All our services are free, confidential and delivered online across the UK, in Romanian and seven other languages.

Free helpline

Our freephone line, 0800 098 2730, is free to call from any phone in the UK. You can speak to us in Romanian, Romani or English. We listen, we believe you, and we help you decide what to do next.

IDVA support, one to one

Our support is led by a qualified Independent Domestic Violence Advisor and follows recognised professional standards. We carry out DASH risk assessments, build a safety plan with you, and stay with you for as long as you need us.

Advocacy with the authorities

We speak for you and with you when you deal with the police, the courts, children's services, housing teams and other public bodies. We explain what is happening in plain Romanian, help you complete forms and statements, and make sure your voice is heard.

MARAC and safeguarding referrals

For high risk cases we refer to the local MARAC and, where children or vulnerable adults are involved, to the relevant safeguarding teams. We follow through on the actions allocated to us and report back.

Legal referrals

We do not give legal advice and we do not represent you in court. What we do is connect you quickly with our partner solicitors for family law, non molestation and occupation orders, child arrangements, divorce, immigration and criminal matters, and we support you through the process.

Emotional support and community

Every Thursday at 7pm we run an online emotional support session in Romanian, and our community WhatsApp group is a safe place to ask questions and not feel alone.

Information and guidance on related issues

Domestic abuse rarely comes alone. Where you are facing problems with housing, benefits, immigration status or your child's schooling, we explain your rights in Romanian and point you to the right specialist service. On these issues we offer information and guidance, not representation.

Interpreting and translation

Our own team of volunteer translators, including authorised translators, provides interpreting and translation in Romanian, English, Romani, Spanish, Portuguese, Greek, Italian and French, so that language is never the reason someone is turned away.

Support for professionals

We accept referrals from police, councils, health, education, refuges and other agencies who work with Romanian speaking clients, and we respond within 48 hours. We also offer a free CPD certified online course, "Understanding Domestic Violence and Abuse", with a dedicated module on the Romanian community in the UK.
